Gear

Gears are items that can be given to units and buildings in order to improve their usefulness. When equipped they provide stat bonuses to the unit or building.

Tiers

Gears are divided into four separate tiers, based on rarity. .

• Uncommon (Green)
• Rare (Blue)
• Epic (Purple)
• Legendary (Orange)

The highest three tiers of Gear used to be only available to players that have purchased the Premium Civilization Pack or the Pro Civilization (for more details about Premium/Pro Civilization, see Civilization).

Equipment slots

Each Unit and Building has 2 to 4 equipment slots. The gear slots usually consist of:

• Slot 1: Weapon or Special
• Slot 2: Shields or Ammunition
• Slot 3: Armor or Construction
• Slot 4: Accessory
• Slot 5: Exclusive Civilization gear

Slot 1

• Belly Bow - Usable by Greek Gastraphetes and Roman Scorpio
• Bow - Usable by Ranged Units, Triremes and Defensive Buildings
• Fire Pot - Usable by Fire Ships
• Fishing Nets - Usable by Fishing Ships
• Great Axe - Usable by Egyptian Axemen, Celtic Woad Raiders, Norse Chiefs, Harjars, Berserkers, and Throwing Axemen
• Heavy Spear - Usable by Spearmen, Greek Prodromos, Egyptian Camel Riders, Celtic Horsemen, Cataphract, Lancer, Norse Horseman and Gallic Horseman
• Heavy Club - Usable by Gada Warrior.
• Holy Staff - Usable by Converting Priests.
• Javelin - Usable by Egyptian Scouts, Greek Peltasts, Sarissophoroi, Celtic Carpentom and War Chariot
• Light Spear - Usable by Hoplites, Sparabaras, Egyptian War Elephants, Ulfheðinn, Eques and Shield Bearer
• Merchant Gear - Usable by Caravans and Merchant Transports
• Ram Head - Usable by Battering Rams, Sappers, Ram Ships and Siege Towers
• Scepter - Usable by Egyptian Priestess of Ra
• Sling - Usable by Egyptian Slingers, Celtic Slingers, Babylonian Slingers and Balearic Slingers.
• Sword - Usable by Scouts, Hypaspist, Hippikons, Long Swordsmen, Champions, Legionary, Immortal and Royal Guards
• Throwing Arm - Usable by Siege Units and Siege Warships.
• Work Tools (Gear) - Usable by Villagers and the Roman Engineer

Slot 2

• Arrows - Usable by Archers, Naval Units and Defensive Buildings.
• Shield - Usable by Egyptian War Elephants, Greek Hippikons, Hoplites, Hypaspists, Peltasts, Sarissophoroi and Celtic Long Swordsmen
• War Horn - Usable by Celtic Woad Raiders and Roman Aquilifer

Slot 3

• Armor Plating - Usable by Siege Units and Naval Units.
• Cloth Armor - Usable by Ranged Units, Priests, Caravans and Villagers
• Light Armor - Usable by Cavalry
• Medium Armor - Usable by Infantry Units
• Reinforced Construction - Usable by Buildings
• Torc - Usable by Slinger (Celtic) and Bowman (Celtic)

Slot 4

• Construction Addition - Usable by Buildings
• Engineering Accessory - Usable by Siege units
• Laborer Gear - Usable by Villagers, Engineer and Caravans
• Religious Item - Usable by Priests.
• Scout Special - Usable by Scouts
• Ship Accessory - Usable by Naval Units
• Soldiers' Gear - Usable by Archers, Cavalry and Infantry Units

• Warpaint - Usable by Spearman (Celtic), Long Swordsman, Woad Raider, Champion and Roman Gallic Horseman.
• Banner - Usable by the Roman Aquilifer and Primus Pilus.
